What is the Standard for Down Elasticity?

The international standard to judge how well a down product retains heat is by its fill-power (FP) coefficient, which is the “elasticity coefficient of down”. The heat retaining capability of downs is determined by the size and elasticity of their down balls. The better their elasticity, the larger the fluffiness and air compactness of downs, and more warmer they are. Therefore, they use the elasticity coefficient of down oversea as the indicator for “heat retaining degree”. The higher their coefficient, the better their heat retaining degree is. Generally speaking, only those with the elasticity of over 550FP can be referred to as outstanding downs.

R & D and innovation

Pacific Feather and US customer -Down Décor developed the new brand of water repellent down which named DOWNTEK, and DOWNTEK products are treated by a special NANO medicament. The treating down will have coating which resist the water, and dust will not attach to the surface of down to make the down water repellent and make the down waterproof and dustproof. Product Characters are as below:

RDS Safe Down

For many years, Pacific Feather has upheld the ideas of green and eco-friendly manufacturing and worked hard to carry out such ideas on our products. Pacific Feather has dedicated itself in treating all animals with humanitarian measures and passed RDS recognition on 2016.

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS), was cooperatively developed by North Face, Control Union Certifications, and TE to ensure that all animals in the supply chain of downs receive morally responsible treatment. This made sure that the animals that provided down materials were not tortured, force fed, and plucked alive. After receiving RDS recognition, Pacific Feather now can provide customers with RDS certificates according to the certified categories and is constantly obtaining more recognition.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Non-toxic certification

The EKO-TEX mark is one of the world's famous textile industry marks. It is used to detect whether there are any harmful substances that affect human health in textiles and garments, as a reference for people to purchase environmentally friendly textiles.
